It ended up with a big fight with my computer last night. I composed an email message and inserted my latest road log and happily sent it off. It wouldn’t send it!!! I guess I have the settings for outgoing email set for my cell phone and it received the email fine (after almost an hour downloading! PLEASE do not send me any graphics, attached files or jokes while I am down here in Mexico) but when it tries to send, it stops and says that it failed. SO, I tried once again to get the Front Page program to work on my website, and presto! It hooked right up and said everything was fine. Great! So I loaded the last two logs on the website with photos yet and it didn’t take long at all. I thought since the email stuff came though so slow with graphics, that it was going to be a long wait for it to upload. I have no idea why, but it loaded up about as fast as I ever have. So that part was done now I just had to inform everyone that the logs were posted. That means going to yahoo and sending out the short message in several different emails since it will only allow me to send to six or eight names. I have to struggle through that several times and it is a real pain and may not do that anymore. You might just have to check the website from time to time. I get sort of tired of doing all this and not even getting a short reply about what is up with them. I am about at the point again that I am going to cut the road log list way down especially here in Mexico to those who don’t write back.

When I came out of the internet café last night I saw a bunch of gringo’s eating at a small stand that magically appeared along with several others around the square. They are riding bikes form the Tahoe area and were raving about this guys food. They didn’t know the name of what he made but is great. So I decided to live dangerously and it was great, I had three. Some of the guys had eaten five. So far this morning I am OK.

When I came back to the motel last night the owner was standing around and came over and indicated that my bicycle was in danger. He showed me that I should lock it up or fasten as he said. He said that you can never tell about bandito’s. when I looked at the bike I saw that it was too late, someone had stolen my bike seat! Great, now I cant use it, even in an emergency. I don’t known if I could use it at all with my bum knee (getting better but still packing it). He indicated I should tell Policia but I said no. He then indicated I should take the bike inside last night, which I did.

As I was laying in bed this morning I was thinking about having to find someone to do my laundry down the road some place. That is when I remembered something that Dr. Greg Frazier said, “I take a shower with my clothes on.” Humm, it really sounded strange and he is strange and a certified savage but I thought it might actually work. so, I jumped into my some dirty pants and shirt and took a shower. I used the little bar of hand soap and that seemed to work ok for the tough spots and when I took then off I just put them in the bottom of the shower pan and stomped them good. I think it worked good as the water definitely changed color. I will have to find a patch of cactus or a fence somewhere to dry them but in this dry climate it shouldn’t take long. I should have done that last night so they could be drying all night. Live and learn.

I am at the square waiting for the guy to finish moping the floor in the internet café. I met the AAA mapping guy who was on the square also. I told him that his map is out of date and pointed which stretch was paved. He said that that was the  next part of the state he was going to and thanked me. I asked him if he had a AAA map of the mainland of Mexico and  he said that he thought he did but that it isn’t that good of a map, but he dug it out for me. he comes down with another guy and they map for three months twice a year. he likes lil red.
